What is the dyed-through leather?

Let us see the below picture. The left leather strap is made of none dyed-through leather and the right one using dyed-through leather. Ok, now we get a rough idea of dyed-through leather. So, will it affect me when I use none dyed-through leather? Probably Yes. As you know, we buy leather products because of its gorgeous looking and its quality, at the same time, sometimes we cannot avoid rubbing or hitting when using/wearing them, the leather surface might get damages or the leather surface might get little breaks naturally after a period of using. It is embarrassing. The only way to repair them is that you buy the leather color dye kit repaired by yourself or send them to the workshop for repairing.

The dyed-through leather has the same color on top and inside. It is much easier for maintenance that we just need to use general leather cream with a cloth to rub gently on the leather surface.

How can I tell the leather accessories are made of dyed-through leather?

Basically, the dyed-through leather is dyed through completely by using Aniline dye, we call the Aniline as leather wax/oil. Aniline dye is a transparent liquid which is absorbed by the leather without forming a coating layer. The leather wax/oil has its special leather smell lightly, and you can tell it for the first time using your leather accessory.
